  1. Determine your destination and achievement goals as with all efforts, you must be clear about your direction when you create your own career development plan.
  2. Within the help of above determination, define all the options by examining your interests, skills, and values through self-assessment and categorized the options on priority based formula.
  3. When you literally prioritize your options, plan for action the category “A”.
  4. Identify barriers, both personal and external, that can prevent you from accomplishing your goals, and then create ways to overcome these barriers.
  5. Describe tasks in your current job that are contributing to long term goals and that you would like to emphasize or perform more frequently.
  6. Describe tasks in your current job that are not contributing to your long-term goals. Suggest ways to minimize, remove, or delegate them to others.
  7. Write down any additional skills, knowledge or experience you would like to acquire that may directly or indirectly help you in your current job or future positions.
  8. Describe when and how progress checkpoints will occur (e.g., memos, phone calls, meetings) and what developmental activities will be completed or discussed at these times.
  9. Once you have designed your career development plan, you must print out it and table it getting refreshed every morning.
