STRAIGHT FROM THE RUNWAY: THE MOST WEARABLE JEWELRY TRENDS 2017

Oftentimes, the fashion runways are filled with gorgeous, elegant numbers that are hard for us to pull off on the streets, but if there was one part of the Fall Fashion Shows that we could easily incorporate into our everyday wear, it’s the many accessories showcased, specifically jewelry.

Brooches
Before you cast brooches off as a style only meant to be worn by grandmothers, take another glimpse at the detailing on the collars and dresses worn by the fall runway models. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that Prada, Balenciaga, and an assortment of others embellished their models with pins that are bold, artsy, and edgy, a major upgrade from those trinkets you’d normally find at a flea market. Find the right brooch to add some interest to your outfit and for a little sparkle for this season.

Wide Chokers
By looking at the collection of jewelry from Astley Clarke, Chanel and Saint Lauren that numerous online stores carry today, it’s evident that chokers have firmly made their way back into fashion. Numerous designers have modernized the 18th Century French adornment using everything from lace to chains, but the latest in this necklace trend is the wide choker. Now that winter is almost upon us, the wide choker is a sexy alternative to the turtleneck which has “all the appeal of the face-framing mock neck, but lets you show off your décolletage, too.” And just as an FYI, a thick, stretchy black headband can double up as a DIY collar.

Single Earring
The single earring phenomenon first appeared a few seasons ago, but it seems as though we’ve underestimated the power of this trend as it continues to inspire designers and stylists to keep it on runways. Our fascination for the asymmetrical silhouette translates in both our clothes as well as accessories, and from what we’ve discovered with the single earring trend is that you don’t always need two danglers to make your ensemble pop. A geometric earring can add dimension to a casual t-shirt-and-jeans outfit while a spiky ear cuff can give you an avant garde finish. A feather earring works beautifully on its own for those wanting to give off a boho chic vibe. As you can see, the possibilities are endless with a single earring.
